Cables, power cords and power conditioning — Ensanche Naco
Every component in a system gets chosen with care, and then the signal has to travel between them. The cables, the power cords and the conditioning are the least visible part of a system and the longest signal path in it, and they are usually the last thing anyone specifies. That is exactly where a system either keeps what those components produce or quietly loses it.
Transparent Audio has been building that part of the chain in Saco, Maine for four decades: analog interconnects and speaker cables, digital and HDMI cables, power cords, power conditioning. We carry it.
Why this is not simply wire
Three things a shelf cannot do
A filter network, not just conductors
Ordinary wire is naturally better at carrying frequencies far above the audio band than the audio band itself, which is another way of saying it behaves like an antenna. Transparent builds a low pass filter network into the cable to balance that out, so what arrives at the next component is the music rather than everything the run picked up on the way.
Built for its own length
The electrical balance of a cable changes with how long it is. Transparent designs the network for every length of every cable, so the long run to an amplifier at the other end of the room is not a compromise you accept quietly because that was the length you needed.
Calibrated to both ends
In the Reference, XL, Opus and Magnum Opus series the network is designed around the electrical output characteristics of the component it is going to be connected to. That is not a thing you can pick off a shelf, because it depends on someone knowing what sits at each end of the run.
Where it sits in the room
A cable that is built for its length and calibrated to the components at each end is a specification, not a purchase. It gets decided at the same time as the amplifier, the loudspeaker and the rack, by someone who already knows what is at both ends of every run and how far apart they are. That is the same conversation as the rest of the system, which is why it belongs on the same plan — see ultra high-end audio for the components it connects, and home theater for the room around them.
